Really fun day at the track

First time at Belmont, figured what better day to do it than on stakes day. We arrived early it was a little chaotic getting into the parking area as is to be expected at any large sporting event. The races were great. 13 race card with the stakes at 11. It was interesting and fun to see all of the different hats and fashions folk were wearing. A touch of the past, not quite as much as Saratoga was but definitely more regular spectators in period dress. As the races continued the crowd seemed to build and build until it was positively packed on the lower level for the stakes. Don't recommend that for the stakes race unless you enjoy being very up close and personal to the people around you. Forget being at the rail for the stakes unless you've been at the rail since the beginning. All and all a great day
